Located in the Saint-Gilles district in the heart of Brussels, this first roller skating rink in the world was built in 1877. Since 2015, La Patinoire Royale Bach has been presenting a selection of historical and contemporary Belgian and international artists in this listed and emblematic 3,000m2 venue. Its programme is spread over three exhibition spaces: The Nave, unique with its 11-metre high ceilings and over 1,000m2 of floor space, offers artists the opportunity to display installations that are often monumental. The Glass Roof, bathed in natural light, and the Project Room upstairs can accommodate several artists' proposals at the same time. La galerie La Patinoire Royale Bach represents more than 20 emerging and established artists in Belgium. It is building up a programme of invitations and tailor-made collaborations, while developing its links with collectors and institutions, notably through participation in a selection of European art fairs.
