The exhibition offers a comprehensive survey of contemporary Spanish art, centered on the seminal figure of Francisco de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828), widely regarded as the pivotal catalyst for a lineage of modernity firmly anchored in the Spanish realist tradition. A total of seventy artists confront the expressive and conceptual complexity of Goya [the Aragonese painter] over the course of a time span ranging from the artist's enlightened context in the 18th century to the present day.
