Rue Ravenstein, 23 - 1000 Brussels map

As a reply to the retables of Bernard van Orley, the artist Marie-Jo Lafontaine composes a polyptych of four female bodies in dubio. A release in time and space, a portrait that both reveals and retains its mystery. Over the centuries, an exchange of motifs: the choice of the retable and of the portrait, a glimpse of the infinite in the mortal and immortal body. Or in the words of Franz Kafka: “I stand on the end platform of a tram and am totally unsure of my footing in this world.”
