Opened in April 2024, EXH#03 is curated by Walter Vanhaerents together with Joost and Els Vanhaerents. The exhibition brings together recent acquisitions and key works across three floors. Inspired by the Chinese zodiac, it unfolds as an associative journey where large-scale works combine aesthetic innovation with emotional intensity and urgent social themes. The works address topics such as oppression, loss of freedom, identity, inequality and migration. Artists including Stephan Balleux, Gregory Crewdson, Alvaro Barrington, Jonathan Meese, Zakaria Ramhani, Jin Meyerson, Ugo Rondinone, Gillian Wearing and Gilbert & George each offer distinct perspectives on contemporary society. Also included in the visit is Reflections on Breathing by Danish artist Jeppe Hein, presented in the project space. At its core is Breathe With Me, a large-scale participatory work inviting visitors to visualize their breath through blue lines, creating a collective drawing of presence and connection. EXH#03 offers a powerful and layered experience where art, reflection and participation converge.
