tense release stretch JOSÉ PEDRO CROFT OPENING Thursday 22.04.21 from 2pm to 8pm Exhibition 23.04 – 28.05 Established as a major figure of the Portuguese art scene for several decades, José Pedro Croft established a visual language based on intertwining frames and volumes, displaying delicately balanced compositions in space and on paper. In 2017, he was chosen to represent Portugal at the 57th Venice Biennale and his work can be found in the collections of the Centre Pompidou (FR), the Albertina Museum (AT), the Serralves Foundation (PT), the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum (PT), the Reina Sofía National Museum (ES), the Rio de Janeiro Modern Art Museum (BR) or the Sao Paulo National Pinacotheca (BR), among others. On the occasion of José Pedro Croft’s first solo exhibition at the gallery, we are delighted to present a selection of works on paper - some of them monumental - and sculptures.
