The Talking Heads song, eponymous to the title of the show, starts with "Home is where I want to be." This is the perfect conclusion to Hell’Os Antoine Detaille and Jérôme Meynen’s confinement experience. Of course, the uncertainties and deprivation of liberty were part of everyday life. Despite this, many of us have rediscovered with interest our furnished interiors and the people who live in it. The thirty drawings are the product of this never-ending year. The size of the works never exceeds that of the dining table or the desk. For once, the duo worked separately on their designs, seeking inspiration on their own. In the end, nuances appear between the two Hell’Os; Jérôme Meynen seems to lean towards a spatial composition, multiplying the objects that are in it. Antoine Detaille draws attention to the character that is often placed in the foreground. But most remarkable is the excellence of harmony achieved between the works, a harmony which truly transcends the common visual language of an imaginary world. This is Hell’O. Often the surrealist universe of the collective changes course; It was at times vegetal, geometric, refined, abstract textured, organized knickknacks, juxtaposed scenes, interlocking characters… This time they draw interiors without walls, composed of shelves, sculptures, plants and flowers. Everything is organized with care, softness and balance. The atmosphere is peaceful and time is suspended. This intimate atmosphere has led the artists to choose different frames and mats for each drawing. Once the object is hung on the wall, it acquires the virtue of the talisman, the magical power of beaming resilience.
